Digital Technology - How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

For the construction of our media coursework project, we used a Canon digital camera to record our different scenes for the first couple of minutes to the opening to our film. We also used Adobe Premiere Elements a lot which we uploaded our footage onto. We then editied our footage on Adobe Premiere Elements. Which helped us do several things whilst editing our footage. We changed the contrast of our footage, took the sound off it, removing any unnecessary footage that we didn't need, and put opening titles over the first few seconds onto the opening shots. We used a certain font for the opening titles that we thought suited the type of film we were shooting. We used a slide that was black and put it near to the end of our footage to create a blackout effect because of the storyline in our film. We added music onto the top of the footage. For our research we looked at several different woods too see which one we thought had the best area with what we wanted to film. We ended up using both woods, but you can't tell that we've used different woods in our final piece. We planned to film the whole of our footage in two days, and that is what we did. We didn't want to film in the two seperate woods but because of the limited amount of time we had, we had no choice but too. But I dont feel that it was a disadvantage because we had more footage to work with. Overall with the amount of time we had to complete ours because of having problems, I feel that the outcome turned out really well. We didnt use our own music because we couldnt find any that wasn't copyright, but next time we are going to look harder so we deffinatly have our own. Next time we are going to use a tripod. We only used hand held camera for this piece, so next time a tripod will be used. We will also try and use more locations. We limited ourselves to a wooded area, as our chosen genre was a horror and storyline set in a woods.
